Course

All racers will be racing the course in the same order – Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4.

You will start the day by self-shuttling from Horsepower Ranch to the race venue Rancho La Rinconada

This is where you’ll see the main race venue – aid stations – the CES Timing Tent – and Fox Factory helping you with your suspension setups.

Stage 1: From the race venue, you will climb to the start of stage 1 – Attenuatas.   It’s a 1.5 mile climb to the start of stage 1- with 1000’ elevation gain.   Attenuatas is a 2 mile fast-loose and rocky trail with some exposure.   After the finish, it’s a 2 mile fireroad pedal back to the race venue.

Stage 2: Next is a climb to stage 2 – Lynx – follows the same climb as Stage 1.  Lynx is a 1.1 mile fast-loose trail with a challenging rock section.

Stage 3: Meadow – FOX Queen Stage – There is a 0.5 mile transfer to the start of stage 3.   Meadow trail is 1 mile of steep loose with some rocks, with tabletop and whoops towards the bottom of the stage.

Stage 4: And last up, Deer –  The final transfer is 0.6 miles to the top of Deer trail.  Deer is a fast 1.5 mile trail – but keep a little extra for the finish with some pedaling towards the finish line.

STOP AT THE CES TIMING TENT TO CHECK IN.  We’d like to know where folks are during the day.

Here are the stages and transfers on Strava.

The course will be fully marked on Friday March 17 –  ready for course inspection.

Stage Start Times

Stage Start Times  – The indicated times are the start times at the start of each stage, it is your responsibility to be at each race stage at the time indicated. At the top of the table you will find the estimated transfer time for each stage to help you plan your transfers. We also allocated 10 minutes between stages, beyond the transfer times, to allow you to manage repairs, hydrate and get some food. So you will have plenty of time to make the transfers between stages and enjoy the day and the race.

CES went down to Ensenada in 2019 for the Ensenada Bike Fest organized by Lou Mollineda — mixing things up and adding some adventure to the CES schedule.  Ensenada did not disappoint – fun raw tracks, great hospitality, and an amazing venue at Horse Power Ranch – it was a blast!    You can check out the recap from the 2019 Ensenada Bike Fest Enduro – it was awesome!

We’re excited to get back down to Mexico in 2023.  Over the last few years since 2019, Lou has been working on some new trails on a private property 7 miles from Horse Power Ranch – Rancho La Rinconada.   We’ll be staying in Horse Power Ranch – that was such a sweet venue for the weekend with the pool and music and food.  With the racing on the Rancho La Rinconada property just 7 miles away.

Make sure those passports are good and let’s kick off 2023 in Ensenada!!!
