FAQ

 

Q: Will the course be marked on Friday?

A: Yes

 

Q: Where is the race venue?

A: Above Lithia Park, off of Granite Street

 

Q: Is there camping in the venue?

A: No

 

Q: Are dogs allowed in the venue?

A: Yes, on leash only. But no dogs are allowed in Lithia Park.

 

Q: Will there be a meal after my race?

A: Yes

 

Q: Will there be gluten free and vegetarian options?

A: Yes

 

Q: Will there be food available to purchase?

A: Yes, and drinks

 

Q: How does the shuttle work?

A: There are two sides to Mount Ashland – east and west. East side is the shuttle side; west side is the pedal side. Pros and Experts shuttle first; Sport and Beginner classes pedal first.

 

Q: Will there be a shuttle to Mount Ashland after the event?

A: No

 

Q: Can I shuttle myself to Mount Ashland?

A: Yes, but have a plan in place for retrieving your vehicle after the race.

 

Q: How far is the venue from the parking area?

A: There is parking up and down Granite Street. You’ll have approximately ¼ to ½ mile pedal to the event.

 

Q: How far is Emigrant Lake camping from the venue?

A: 6 miles

 

Q: Where and when is packet pickup?

A: Friday, October 6 from 3-7pm at Ashland Mountain Adventures, 728 Jefferson Avenue in Ashland. Parking available on the street.

 

Q: Can someone pick up my packet for me?

A: No, racers must be present for packet pickup

 

Q: Is there packet pick up race day morning?

A: Yes, from 6:15 to 7:15am. But Friday is better option (see above).

 

Q: Will I have a start time?

A: Yes, you will be assigned a start time at packet pickup.

 

Q: What time should I start pedaling?

A: Allow yourself two hours before your start time.

 

Q: Where do I pick up the t-shirt that I pre-ordered?

A: At packet pickup; please be sure to ask for it.

 

Q: Where is a good spectator location?

A: At the Catwalk Rock Garden. Park at the Four Corners parking lot at the top of Tolman Creek Road. (Look up Four Corners – Coggins Saddle Trailhead on Google Maps.)

 

Q: What will the weather be like?

A: Ashland is a mountain town and the weather can change quickly and drastically. Look up Ashland weather on your weather app three days prior to the race.

 

Q: What is the race day shuttle schedule?

A: Shuttle schedule is:

Pro/Open – Gather at 7am, depart 7:15am

Expert Men 18-29 and 40-49 – Gather at 8:15am; depart 8:30am

Expert Men 30-39 and U18 – Gather at 9:45; depart 10:00am

Expert Men 50+ – Gather at 11:15; depart 11:30

Expert Women, All Ages – Gather at 11:15; depart 11:30

Sport Men U18 and 18-29 – Gather at 11:30am; depart 11:45am

Sport Men 30-39 and 40-49 – Gather at 12pm; depart 12:15pm

Sport Men 50+ – Gather at 1:30pm; depart 1:45pm

Sport Women – Gather at 1:30pm; depart 1:45pm

 

Q: What happens if I miss my shuttle time?

A: You will have to drive yourself and be responsible for retrieving your own vehicle after the race.

 

Q: What are the stage closing times?

A:  You’ll be given approximate stage closure times at packet pickup.

 

Q: Will Sport/Beginner class be racing Stage 5?

A: No

 

Q: Will there be shuttles available on Sunday?

A: Yes, book online or text AMA at (541) 499-2298.
